MECHANICS
Once the shape of your arrangement is determined, we must answer the question,  "How are we going to get the flowers to stay where we put them?" A variety of metal holders are shown in the image above.  These can be held in place with floral adhesive.  
Oasis Foam is most often used for support with fresh flowers.  Its cell structure resembles the cell structure of the plants and is very water absorbent.  It is secured in the container with floral tape crossed across the top of the container OR in a disposable container by hot glue (prior to soaking in water). When using floral tape, make sure the edges of your container are dry prior to application.
